Jo and Alain’s wedding was a wonderful day that I had the honour of photographing. It was an extra special event for me as Jo is also my cousin!
I spent a wonderful day with them at Christchurch Chorleywood, and the gorgeous Shendish Manor Hotel a lovely wedding venue in Kings Langley near Hemel Hempsted. The wedding was quite an international affair, with family and guests having travelled from as far away as the USA and Cameroon to share Jo and Alain’s special day with them. It was a grey and rainy November day, but that didn’t dampen anyones spirits – I even fell in a puddle on my way to the reception but hey I was having such a great time I didn’t let that spoil a moment!
They incorporated lots of handmade touches into the day with a cake topper designed and made by Jo’s sister-in-law and beautiful table decorations styled and hand-made by Jo’s sister. The weather even improved once the sun started to set and we were treated to a lovely golden sunlight for our bride and groom photos before the wedding breakfast began.
The evening’s festivities took on a colourful and fun african vibe with the entire wedding party changing into traditional clothes from Cameroon. A fabulous end to a fabulous day! Congratulations Jo and Alain.
