Following my day in the garden with USA photographer Tiffany of Munchkins and Mohawks (read all about it here and here) I have been busy putting what I learnt into practice. I am now introducing styling to my photo shoots.
Every family is different and unique, so are each of my styled photography sessions. Through styling a session, I can reflect the personality, interests, style and spirit of your family for a truly customised photography experience. When styling a session, I ask all about you and your family, interests, hobbies and personalities. I use this information to come up with ideas for clothing, props and a location for your photographs. By including your childrens interests into the photo shoot, it becomes a happy fun filled experience for your little ones , which results in happy natural images. I even ask about your home decor so your photos will look great hanging in your house. For example the family in this styled shoot love books, their daughter loves her toy rabbits, their home is decorated in pastels and Mum once had a ‘Mad Hatters tea party’ baby shower. Using this information, I came up with the idea for an Alice in Wonderland inspired session. Next I scoured the internet for a couple of props and found clothing suggestions for each family member. I put all this inspiration onto a pinterest board and shared it with my family so they knew what I had in mind and we could discuss each idea so that we could get it just right.
Here are their photographs followed by a couple of wall display designs I produced for them.
Welcome to ‘Wonderland’ a styled session inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
